First album in four years for the Country-Rock Rapper, and anyone who keeps up with the wide world of Hip Hop music could never say they knew what to expect this time round. Over the latter part of his career Everlast has been nothing if not consistent in his sound, bringing us country drenched Hip Hop singalongs with the air of a man drawing wisdom from his experiences. In the four years preceding this record however, Everlast has hooked himself up with underground, hardcore emcees Ill Bill (Formerly of Non Phixion) and Slaine to form La Coka Nostra, backed by old House Of Pain cohort DJ Lethal.

Oh dear, the title isn’t a good start. It may have hidden meanings etc. but straight away it seems to be inviting the criticism they’ve suffered for most of their career. Staind were never a band to court critical acclaim though and I for one have always found alot to enjoy in their Grunge/Rock output. 2005’s ‘Chapter V’ was a benchmark for me in terms of the fulfillment of their sound, and it was difficult to work out then where else they could really go with it.
